In the Company of Writers: Women Re-invented

This is a re-post in response to Lysa TerKeurst’s Scholarship Contest for SheSpeaks!

Ladies, if you have not heard about this tremendous conference… read on to see the impact this incredible experience has had on my life! Click here to compete in the contest.

Today I received an email from Rachel Olson, Proverbs 31 speaker and writer, that I had been chosen the winner of the Devotional Carnival!

On Monday, Rachel ran a contest for bloggers to write a devotional celebrating love and then posting a link on her website. Thirty-eight bloggers entered including some of my favorite Proverbs 31 writers and bloggers.

Many of these women have written for years and speak about their experiences with a poise and grace that is inspiring, so to even be in their company, for me, was a huge honor!

So you can imagine my surprise when Rachel emailed me to let me know that my blog Messy Love was the winner… especially considering the company of amazing writers that I found myself. What a blessing 🙂

I’ve never won anything for writing before.

I am so excited… and so thankful

You see, Proverbs 31 is an organization that reaches out to inspire and encourage women to pursue their dreams.

I am so thankful that they exist.

Their yearly conference, SheSpeaks is phenomenal and has helped many women follow the dreams that God has placed in their hearts.

Remember the people I blogged about last week who had impacted my writing passion to send it soaring? Well, it was at the SheSpeaks conference that I met them!

I have had the privilege of attending one of these conferences and can say that the P31 staff and volunteers truly follow the model of Ephesians 4:11-12.

Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ…

Thank you to each of the P31 ladies for encouraging us to follow our dreams… you are a blessing to women everywhere!  And thank you Rachel for the privilege of participating in your devotional carnival… it was really a privilege for me and the highlight of my week 🙂

And of course Melanie who you have seen featured on my blog before

Enjoy everyone!
