Women in Ministry Series

I have the distinct privilege of journeying with a group of wonderful women of the Lord who have dedicated their hearts and lives to ministry in Jesus Name.

These women have inspired, challenged, and encouraged me. They have embraced authenticity in sharing the joys and sorrows of their walk with the Lord.

I have watched their ministries, prayed with them, partnered with them, cheered them on, and stood back in awe as God has worked through them.

Because I believe so passionately in what God is doing through each of these women and their ministries, this week’s blogs will be dedicated to these amazing “Women in Ministry.”

Each day I will feature a different one of the women below…

Melanie bio shotTuesday: Melanie Chitwood: Writer and speaker (Harvest House Publishing and Proverbs 31 ministry).

Melanie is the author of What a Husband Needs from His Wife and soon to be released What a Wife Needs from Her Husband (Harvest House). Melanie frequently writes and speaks with the Proverbs 31 team and is an active blogger too! As a wife to a sports-loving husband, a mother to two young sons, and a Christian author and speaker, Melanie understands the challenges women face as they try to balance their many roles and responsibilities! After hearing Melanie speak, women will leave inspired and equipped to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ, the One who provides the strength and peace they need for enjoying life each day.

leaha 2Wednesday: Leaha Shaikh: On staff with Athletes In Action, a ministry of Campus Crusade.

Leaha and her husband Asif, and their two daughters Makenna and Janessa, share Christ with young college athletes in Tampa, FL. They moved to Tampa Bay on July 15th, 2001 from Arlington, VA and have never looked back. Leaha is from State College PA where she attended Penn State University and  transferred her senior year to Southeastern University in Lakeland FL.  Asif & Leaha’s heart is to “turn lost students into Christ centered laborers”. Leaha is an avid blogger and writer too!

She has the pleasure of raising two daughters, Becky and Kari.

michele ruth jonesFriday: Michele Ruth Jones: Founder and President of Time to Fly, Inc.

In 2001, Michele founded the Time To Fly Foundation (TTF) as a response to the dramatic needs of women suffering from the silent sin of domestic abuse. While volunteering at domestic violence shelters she realized that women’s external wounds heal; yet the inflicted “unseen” wounds of emotional damage, broken spirits and heart can last a life-time unless they are addressed. In a supportive, non-judgmental/caring environment, the TTF program offers restoration to the three dimensions of a woman’s life-her body, her soul and her spirit.  Michele’s background includes twenty years in Corporate America, she was a committee chairperson on civic and professional associations, she has served as a Women’s Ministry Coordinator for nineteen years, she was a County Women’s Shelter Volunteer, member of Fairfax County DV Taskforce and an appointee to the Fairfax County Commission For Women

Michele is well aware of the unique needs of hurting women and their need for effective tools to take them forward into a victorious life!

So tune in this week to see what each of these amazing women will share, I promise you will not be disappointed!
